History

The Maine Soccer Association (MSA) was founded in 2023 to provide men’s and women’s soccer programming that complemented the youth soccer programming that has existed in Maine since 1994.

The MSA established 23U Men’s programming in 2023 and expanded that programming to include both 23U Men’s and 23U Women’s programming in 2024, and the goal is to develop Maine’s first, 10-game qualifying league for the U.S. Open Cup.

The MSA is an affiliate of the U.S. Adult Soccer Association and will become a member of the U.S. Soccer Federation in February 2025.
